Cookies on Slaeb, what we use, and why.

When you visit slaeb.com or use the Slaeb platform, we and a small number of trusted partners place cookies and similar technologies on your device. This page explains exactly what they do, how long they last, and how you can change your mind at any time.

ON THIS PAGE
01 What is a cookie?

cookie is a small text file that a website places on your device (computer, tablet or phone) when you visit it. Cookies allow the site to recognise your device, remember preferences, and understand how the site is being used. They cannot run programs or deliver viruses.

Throughout this policy, the term “cookies” also refers to similar technologies — pixels, local storage, session storage and software development kits (SDKs) — that work in comparable ways.

02 Why we use cookies

We use cookies for four clear reasons:

  • To make Slaeb work — keep you logged in, remember your language and remember the items in your cart
  • To make it better — understand which features are used, what’s broken and where users get stuck
  • To keep it safe — detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorised access
  • To talk to the right people — measure the effectiveness of our marketing (only with your consent)
03 The four types of cookies we use

We group cookies into four clear categories. You can change your preferences for any optional category at any time.

Strictly necessary

Required for the site and platform to work. They keep you logged in, secure your session, remember which language you chose, and load the right page. The site won't work without them, so they cannot be switched off.

Examples: session authentication, CSRF protection, language preference, Cloudflare security

Functional

Make the site smarter. They remember things like your dashboard layout, recently viewed items, and chat history with our support widget. Useful but not essential.

Examples: Intercom support widget, UI preferences, region detection

Analytics & performance

Help us understand how visitors use slaeb.com — which pages are popular, what's broken, where people drop off. We aggregate everything; we never see what individual users do.

Examples: Google Analytics, privacy-friendly analytics provider

Marketing

Let us measure the effectiveness of campaigns on Google, LinkedIn and Meta, and avoid showing you ads for something you've already bought. Off by default — only loaded if you give consent.

Examples: LinkedIn Insight Tag, Meta Pixel, Google Ads conversion

04 The complete list of cookies we use

Here is the current list of cookies set when you visit slaeb.com or use the platform. We keep it up to date — the date below shows the last review.

05 Third-party cookies

Some cookies in the list above are set by third parties when their content (a video, a chat widget, a tracking pixel) loads on our site. We choose these partners carefully and review them periodically, but their own privacy and cookie policies govern their use of cookies:

06 Consent & legal basis
The legal framework for cookies in our markets is built on two pillars:
  • ePrivacy Directive (EU/France) and PECR (UK) — non-essential cookies require prior, explicit, freely given consent
  • GDPR / UK GDPR — any personal data set or read via cookies must have a lawful basis (consent for marketing, legitimate interest for analytics where appropriate, contract for essential cookies)
Practically, this means:
  • On your first visit you see a cookie consent banner with three clear options: Accept all · Reject all · Manage preferences
  • Reject is as easy and prominent as Accept — no dark patterns
  • Only strictly necessary cookies load until you make a choice
  • Your choice is recorded for 12 months, after which we ask again
  • You can withdraw or change your consent at any time via “Manage my preferences” in this page or in the website footer
07 How to manage cookies on Slaeb

You can update your preferences at any time:

  1. Click “Manage my preferences” at the top of this page or in the footer of any Slaeb page
  2. Toggle each category on or off (strictly necessary cannot be disabled)
  3. Save — your new choices take effect immediately and are stored for 12 months
08 Browser settings

You can also control cookies directly in your browser. Here’s where to look in the most common ones:

Chrome

https://support.google.com/

Safari

https://support.apple.com/

Edge

https://support.microsoft.com/

Firefox

https://support.mozilla.org/

Blocking all cookies in your browser may prevent the Slaeb platform from working properly, for example, you may be logged out repeatedly or unable to access secure areas.

09 Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (DNT) signal. There is currently no industry standard for how websites should respond to DNT signals, so we do not respond to them automatically. Instead, our consent banner gives you direct, granular control, which is more reliable in practice.

10 Changes to this policy

We review this Cookie Policy at least once a year and whenever we add, remove or change a cookie. The “Last reviewed” date in section 4 shows when we last updated the list. Material changes are announced in the consent banner so you can review and renew your preferences.
